                                                                  Fight Against Gender Inequality

          Everyone is equal? The Equal Rights Amendment is a proposed amendment to the United States Constitution designed to guarantee equal legal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex; it seeks to end the legal distinctions between men and women in terms of divorce, property, employment, and other matters, but in our society do we really have an equal right? In society, many people think of women as the responsibility of being a wife because they should stay at home to take care of children and they don’t have the same power of men because women are weak. For many years men have considered women slaves who were to do housework and take care of the family. Such discrimination led to suffering in gender equality. women have been seemed less educated and weak. In now day there is a lot of movies trying to help decrease gender inequality by showing the different side of women. In the movie, Black Pattern has shown me that woman can be strong as a man, women are not like what people think of who only have a pretty face but, instead, women are someone who can protect their country and they can be smart as a man who can invent a lot of high-level technology. In the movie, they use three women character Nakia, Shuri, and Okoye to prove this. In now day a lot of people think everyone is equal however the battle for gender equality is still not yet won. This topic is important to the world by telling our society that we should do more to help women gain their equal right as men, in order to create a society with an equal right to everyone.

            Most of the people in the country think everyone is born with an equal right but does the man really seen women as equal as them self? In reality, women are still fighting for their gender inequality. For example,in the In the article “Don’t no woman have to do nothing she doesn’t want to do”: Gender, Activism, and the Illinois Black Panther Party state that“Since the advent of Black power, the Black male has exerted a more prominent leadership role in our struggle for justice in this country. He sees the system for what it really is for the most part, but where he rejects its values and mores on many issues, when it comes to women, he seems to take his guidelines from the pages of the Ladies’ Home Journal.”this quote shows that when black male was fighting about their equality and their freedom they don’t allow women to come out and help them to fight together. They think women should stay at home. In the article, it also states that “Women added their voices to debates over the meaning of their structural and organizational participation. Although they participated in the broad range of Panther political activities, the party created a separate category of membership for women, called the “Pantherettes,” with its own all-female leadership structure. “ This is very important because it shows how women help in fight their freedom just like a man. This quote helps to argue against the last quote where men think women should only stay home being a housewife but women themselves have prove men that they are wrong by showing their power of gaining their own right. The same thing in the movie, black panther want Nakia to marry him and be his queen, but what Nakia really want to do is to protect her own country. In the movie, Nakia plays a role basically who keeps Black Panther safe. Nakia also performs solo missions where she spies on other organizations and then reports back to Wakandan headquarters. Nakia’s character shows to the women that being a housewife is not the only thing women can do. Another example from my own experience my mom had always told me that in her mind my brother is always equal as me she is not helping anyone but, she always expecting me to help my brother clean his room, wash his cloth and help him to buy breakfast. I always ask her why should I do this for him but not himself, but she replied that because you are a girl and he is a boy. This makes me feel very unequal because to me it unfair. All of this shows that it is not true that everyone is equal.

              Many people think in the society we have the equal opportunity but that is not true according to the global issue it states that  “Although the world is making progress in achieving gender parity in education, girls still make up a higher percentage of out-of-school children than boys. Approximately one-quarter of girls in the developing world do not attend school. Typically, families with limited means who cannot afford costs such as school fees, uniforms, and supplies for all of their children will prioritize education for their sons. Families may also rely on girls’ labor for household chores, carrying water, and childcare, leaving limited time for schooling. ”This shows Although the world now advocates equal treatment, but boys are still the first choice whenever they need to make choices. In the another article“ being a woman in turkey” also state that“ woman is one of the essential keystones of social and economic development, both as a mother who will play a significant role in the growth of the future generations, and also as an essential part of the labor market that will add value to economic development. Therefore, the significance of women in economic development is worth examining. ”This quote shows we should give women more chance because they might develop a better economy.All of This helps me think of My friend she had told me a lot of time that she doesn’t like her grandmother because whenever she wants to eat something her grandmother always yells at her not because that food is not healthy but because her brother didn’t come back yet he has to eat it first. In a lot family, they think men are someone who can succeed and is someone who can help them have a better life, not women. In China, most of the family think men as more important as women. They give the most of opportunity to the boy instead of the girl if the family are poor. My cousin’s mother always wanted to have a boy, but when she found out that the third baby was still a girl and she decided to give the girl away. At that time, the baby’s biological condition was very bad, so the person who adopted the baby returned the baby back. My aunt took care of the baby for a few days and saw that the baby was a lot better and gave it to others person again. My mother looked very distressed she very wants to help the baby, but she was not able to raise a child at that time. She could only watch the little girl being given to someone else. This personal experience in my family shows how the world treats women differently since they were just little girls. This is not correct because women can be very powerful and success same as men. In the movie black panther it introduces a character call Shuri, she is  16 years old, she is the person who develops all Wakanda technology. Wright speaks of her character as being ambitious for Wakanda because she wants to take her country to the next level with the aid of her unbridled passion for her work. This character in the movie help to show people that women can be very smart and powerful.Another reason why her character is very important because Her role is quite impactful because her character is a young, a very smart black girl who can now go on to inspire countless other little girls who see Shuri on screen. They will see what she can do and will be inspired to see what they themselves can do as well.

            Many men think women are weak. This becomes most mainly the reason why women should not have the same power as men. However, this idea is wrong because women can be very strong. In the movie black panther one of the women character name Okoye, she proves that women can be very strong, women can fight in the war for their own country just like the men. This character has brought me many surprises. For instance，in the movie, even if she swears allegiance to their king when she discovers that her king is destroying her country, she rushed to defend against the king to protect her country. Even if she stood opposite her lover, she still wanted to protect her own Country. She only cares about what is right and what is wrong. Furthermore, In history, women also showed their ability. Even if they can’t go to the battlefield, they all have their own strength to help their country. They didn’t retreat because of fear, but they rushed forward. For example,In the article“ work and fight！”state that“if it could be work or fight with woman.there would be many,many who would take the second alternative.but they can’t fight .they cant choose to fight, as some of the men do .so they grit their teeth hard, find out where they can be most useful .”This show that women really want to fight in the war to help their county but they can’t however, they didn’t give up. Even Knows they can’t go on the war but they still choose to do everything they can to help the country. This is very not fair to the women they want to help but they can’t just because they seem to be weak. After this war, people must be thankful for the soldier who goes on the war but no one will think wow women can actually be so powerful. Women didn’t have their right to work on till the world war 1, another example from the world war 1 article it states that “During WWI (1914-1918), large numbers of women were recruited into jobs vacated by men who had gone to fight in the war. New jobs were also created as part of the war effort, for example in munitions factories.  The high demand for weapons resulted in the munitions factories becoming the largest single employer of women during 1918. Though there was initial resistance to hiring women for what was seen as ‘men’s work’, the introduction of conscription in 1916 made the need for women workers urgent. Around this time, the government began coordinating the employment of women through campaigns and recruitment drives.”This quote shows that women didn’t have a job till the world war 1 and it the final chance for them to work for their country. This quote is very important because it shows me that it not that women are weak but the world didn’t give them chance to prove that they are strong. Just like during the world war time when they need women they choose to let them work in a factory and suddenly they have knows that women can work. In my personal memory, my mother is very great. She went to the United States alone and experienced many hardships. The process was very fortunate. She often told me that she was very scared at the time and she even cries alone on the way of coming here without anything but she says she must be strong enough to give us a better life. After coming to the United States, she rented a very small room to live here. She went out to work very early and coming back late every night and sent money back to China for our living expenses and my father is responsible for taking care of us in China. In this case, it is proved that women are very strong and can be an even better man. My father is afraid of coming to America by himself but my mother is not afraid, she only wants to make the life of our family better. This series of things tells us that we should not be underestimated, women. Many times, they just need an opportunity and support from other to shows their ability and sometime they might be even more strong than men.

               Many people believed that everyone has the same equal right. However, gender inequality is still a very controversial topic. Women in now day are still fighting for their equality.people in the society believed that women are weak, less educated and they are better in housework.This belief has led to many inequalities between men and women. For Example, less chance then the men and less chance to help their own country for been seem weak. In the movie, Black Panther has shown to the society that women can be strong, independent, and smart as men. Sometimes they can even do a lot of stuff men can’t do. In now day lot of social media tries to help women gaining their equal right just like the movie black panther but it is still not enough. In the future, if everyone gives women more chance especially men support women more, by given them more chance to show their self it will create more strong country just like Wakanda. where women can show their smart in making technology, and be strong enough to protect their own country. Working together to make a better country!
